Depending on the type of gas and concentration, the shelf life is usually between 12 and 36 months. The exact expiration date is indicated on the label of each bottle.
Test gas containers should always be stored in a dry, well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight or heat sources. Ideally, it should be stored at room temperature, unless otherwise specified on the container. It is essential to observe the storage instructions on the label and the safety data sheets for the respective gas.
The frequency of checking or calibrating a gas detector with test gas depends on the type of device, area of use, applicable regulations, and the manufacturer's recommendations. Dräger generally recommends testing portable gas detectors before each use (“bump test”). Calibration should be performed at least every 6 to 12 months or according to the manufacturer's instructions. Details can be found in the operating instructions for your respective measuring device.
The measurement with Dräger MicroTubes in the Dräger X-act 7000 is simple and precise: After inserting the appropriate MicroTube, the X-act 7000 automatically recognizes the type and starts the measurement process. The selective MicroTubes help enable a quantitative analysis of gases and vapors in the air. The system offers high measurement accuracy and is ideal for workplace monitoring and exposure measurement.
