Battery life depends on the blower version, battery type, airflow setting, filter and headpiece in use. As a guide, a standard battery typically provides around 4 to 8 hours of operation, while a high-capacity battery can provide roughly 8 to 20 hours, depending on the configuration. Charging normally takes around 3 hours, or up to 4 hours if the battery is fully discharged.
Particle filters should be replaced once breathing resistance noticeably increases. A noticeable taste or smell inside the headpiece may indicate that a gas filter has reached the end of its service life, although this must not be relied on where the contaminant has poor or no warning properties. Filter service life cannot be given as a fixed period, since it depends on the hazardous substance, its concentration, humidity, temperature, breathing rate and other operating conditions.
