Calibration gas methane in nitrogen, 112 litre cylinder
Dräger calibration gas containing methane in nitrogen, in a 112 litre disposable cylinder at 70 bar – for calibrating methane channels where an oxygen-free balance gas is required.
- A bump test is what makes a reading defensible – a gas detector that has not seen test gas since its last service is an assumption, not a measurement, and most confined space procedures require the check to be recorded before entry.
- Certified mixture with a stated shelf life – each cylinder carries its composition and expiry date, so the calibration record can be traced back to a known reference.
- 112 litre cylinder at 70 bar – the standard Dräger disposable format, sized for routine testing in the workshop or the calibration station.
- Oxygen-free balance gas – a nitrogen balance is used where oxygen in the mixture would interfere with the measurement or with the sensor being spanned.
Also required for measurement
- A pressure regulator or demand flow regulator suitable for this cylinder – the cylinder is supplied without one, and the regulator must match both the valve and the flow rate your instrument or test adapter needs.
- The 112 litre cylinder carries a C10 valve with a 5/8" x 18 UNF thread – not a CGA connection – so the regulator must match it.
- A bump test adapter or calibration cradle for the instrument being tested.
Important information before use
- Observe the expiry date printed on the cylinder; the stated accuracy of the mixture is not maintained beyond it.
- Store and transport the cylinder upright, below 50 °C and out of direct sunlight, and vent it before disposal in line with local regulations.
