The DrägerSensor XS EC HF/HCl precisely measures the concentration of hydrogen fluoride and hydrogen chloride and warns of hazardous gas concentrations.

  • The sensor is replaceable and can only be used in the Dräger X-am 5100
  • Expected service life of more than 1.5 years, supplied with a one-year warranty
  • Fast response time ≤ 60 seconds (t50), warm-up time ≤ 1 hour
  • Operating conditions: −20 to 40 °C, 30 to 90 % RH, 700 to 1,300 hPa

Environmental conditions
  • Temperature: −20 to 40 °C
  • Humidity: 30 to 90 % RH
  • Pressure: 700 to 1,300 hPa
Effect of temperature
  • Zero point: ≤ ± 0.5 ppm
  • Sensitivity: ≤ ± 10 % of the measured value
Effect of humidity
  • Zero point: no effect
  • Sensitivity: ≤ ± 2 % of the measured value/% RH
Test gasHCl test gas between 5 and 30 ppm

Alternatively, the target gases HNO3, HBr, POCl3, PCl5 or HF may also be used. A function test should be carried out before every use; the criterion is that a reading of more than 0.5 ppm HCl is expected after 30 seconds.

Relevant cross-sensitivities – DrägerSensor XS EC HF/HCl

The values given in the table are guide values and apply to new sensors. The values stated may vary by ±30%. The sensor may also be sensitive to other gases (data available from Dräger on request). Gas mixtures may be displayed as a combined total. Gases with a negative sensitivity can cancel out a positive HCl/HF reading. It should therefore be checked whether gas mixtures are present.
