The Dräger X-plore 8700 EX is a powered air-purifying respirator blower unit approved for explosion-hazard areas – usable in Ex zones 1, 2, 21 and 22.

The blower unit is supplied as a base unit. A complete system requires:

Dräger X-plore 8700 standard battery (EX)
A breathing hose, a carrying system and a charger
A headtop – helmet, visor, hood, bump cap, welding visor or mask
A filter to match the hazard

Only the EX battery may be used with this blower unit. Fitting a standard battery would void the explosion protection approval.
